Mandate

The UBC Centre for Constitutional Law and Legal Studies has been created to help facilitate research on issues in constitutional law, constitutionalism, the rule of law, the separation of powers, rights and liberties, the philosophy of law and related legal topics.

The Centre also works to assist students interested in these areas of research, and to help create and maintain connections with the wider legal community.

The Centre fulfills its mandate by sponsoring visiting-speaker series, workshops, conferences, reading groups and other academic initiatives at UBC Okanagan. The Centre also aims to help support the funding of legal scholarships (both for students studying at UBCO and for UBCO graduates) and to help attract post-doctoral fellows working in related research areas on campus.
