Mandate

The UBC Research Group for Constitutional Law has been created to help facilitate research on issues in constitutional law, constitutionalism, the rule of law, the separation of powers, rights and liberties, the philosophy of law and related legal topics.

The Research Group also works to assist students interested in these areas of research, and to help create and maintain connections with the wider legal community.

The Research Group fulfills its mandate by sponsoring visiting-speaker series, workshops, conferences, reading groups and other academic initiatives at UBC Okanagan. The Research Group also aims to help support the funding of legal scholarships (both for students studying at UBCO and for UBCO graduates) and to help attract post-doctoral fellows working in related research areas on campus.
